RD Countertops & Showers installs solid surface shower walls and tub surrounds in Winters, Vacaville, Davis, Woodland, Dixon and nearby towns. Each wall is one sheet with sealed joints, so there's no grout to scrub or reseal.
Most jobs replace an old tile or cultured marble shower. Owner Russell Dommer does the tear-out and installation himself.

No Grout
Grout is where mold, soap scum and stains live. Solid surface walls have none, and the material is non-porous, so water can't soak in.
Clean it with a wipe instead of a scrub brush.

Replacing Cultured Marble
Lots of homes built in the 70s, 80s and 90s still have the original cultured marble shower, now dull, cracked or yellowed.
We remove the old panels, check the walls behind them, and install new solid surface walls. How it works.

Stone Looks
Plain whites, speckled granite looks and veined marble looks. Pick from the full Staron range in the visualizer.
Niches and benches can be built in.

Questions
What is a solid surface shower surround?
Full sheets of solid surface, the same material as Corian countertops, bonded to the shower walls. Corners and joints are sealed tight, so there are no grout lines to scrub, stain or reseal.
Is it better than tile?
For upkeep, yes. No grout, no sealing, and nothing for mold to grow into. Tile gives you more patterns and sizes to choose from. Read Solid Surface vs Tile to compare.
Can you replace my old cultured marble shower?
Yes, it's one of the most common jobs. The old panels come out, the walls behind are checked for water damage, and new solid surface walls go in. Read Replacing a Cultured Marble Shower.
Does it look like plastic?
No. Solid surface is a solid sheet with the color all the way through, in plain whites, speckled stone looks and marble looks. It isn't a thin acrylic liner.
Do you put it over my existing tile?
Usually the old walls come out so we can see what's behind them. If the walls are sound and dry, we'll tell you at the estimate whether they can stay.
Can you do a tub surround too?
Yes. The same seamless walls go around a bathtub, up to the ceiling or to the height you want.
How do I clean it?
Wipe it with a mild, non-abrasive bathroom cleaner. Soap scum sits on the surface instead of soaking into grout.
